My 9-year-old son says: "It's the best and funniest book ever! It's also the longest book I have ever read. Bash named the animals funny names like Gulliver J. McFrederick III and Henrietta Herbie!! There is a secret agent skunk and they think a secret agent turkey!
Bash pretends to be David, but his friend who pretends to be Goliath knows he is safe because Bash has HORRIBLE aim! BEST.BOOK.EVER."
My kids (5, 7, 9) are already begging for the next book in the series. This story is full of lots of fun moments, crazy situations and imaginative boyhood. ... There is also a spiritual heart to this book that explains in Bash language about God and Jesus and the Bible and how to get saved.
Bash and the Pirate Pig is... Crazy, stinky, laugh out loud, death defying, creative, heartwarming, down on the farm summer fun!
Beamer and Bash are cousins with completely different views on just about everything which makes for one wild ride (on a cow?) of a story.
Cow tipping, pirate ship launching, fort building, heifer rescuing, hunting for elephants and rhinoceroses and swimming lessons are just a taste of the antics these two boys get into.
I'll never forget Bash's David and Goliath Sunday school lesson complete with a real slingshot and a zoo of critters- yikes!
I can't recommend this book enough. A wonderful read loud for all ages. Laugh out loud funny and heartwarming at the same time.
Can't wait for the next book in this series!
My kids, 8 and 11, and I got a kick out of Bash and Beamer. They praised this book saying it was even funnier than the first.
I'm excited about finding a series that my kids enjoy because I'm always searching for good books for them to encourage the love of reading.
My kids are rereading the book since it was such a hit and recommending it to friends.
We also enjoyed the boys' perseverance as they worked through trying to help their sad friend.
The humor lightened up a tough situation without taking away from the serious, real feelings of loss.
The fruit of the spirit theme was fresh and original.
Thank you, Mr. Cole, for giving our kids a refreshing way to look at how to live out one's faith and make the world a better place.
Burton W. Cole is an award-winning author and humor columnist whose faith, fun, and farm pranks novels echo a childhood chock full of crazy stunts with hilarious cousins--and their quests to grow in grace, if not bruises.
Burt grew up on a small farm in northeast Ohio. He attended a little church jammed with kids. Just like in his comical books, there were cows, pigs, and chickens--but usually not in Sunday school.
A newspaper features editor and columnist, Burt bellows praises as the song leader in his country church. Writing accolades include the 2015 Selah Award for Best Middle Grades Novel.
Burt and his wife, Terry, have two adult children, a grandson, a hyper cat who thinks she's the boss of Burt, and Burt’s dreams for a giant fish aquarium (fish don't steal your favorite chair).
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.—Romans 8:28 (NIV)

New Books are Coming!
The answer is YES! There WILL be a fourth installment in the Bash and Beamer series! Not only that, but Bash and Beamer's cousin Michael Muscovy "Duck" Mallard will debut in a brand new series with the case files of The Duck Detective Agency.
Little Lamb Books, a Texas-based traditional publishing company specializing in faith-based fiction for children and young adults, picked up the rights to continue the Bash series, plus will be producing my new series.
Now comes the hard part—it takes about a year for a book to go through the editing, illustrating, and publishing process. We're looking at early 2022 for release. For me, that's worse than waiting for Christmas. But FINALLY, for those of you have continued to ask, new adventures ARE COMING!
We'll be unveiling details on both books in the coming weeks, including what the new detective series is all about. (It’s about comedy, of course, and an overconfident 10-year-old detective who solves the cases despite flubbing all the clues. And building traps that only catch him and his friends. But shhh! That’s a secret. We’ll talk about Duck and his four detective friends soon.) We’ll also drop hints on what kind of trouble Bash and his riding pig Gulliver J. McFrederick the Third are galloping toward now.
